Among Michelle Cohen Egan’s many skills and experiences is her role as an accomplished mediator.  Ms. Egan has the skill to uncover what truly matters to disputing parties, and to help them find their way toward common ground and a resolution that works for all concerned.  We believe that you will not find a more level-headed, insightful, and experienced problem-solver than Ms. Egan.

Ms. Egan is a Georgia native and lifelong resident. Through her years practicing in Georgia – including obtaining her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law – Ms. Egan has the background necessary to understand Georgia’s business and legal landscape, its hard-working Judges, its juries, and its many attorneys and their varied approaches to representing their clients.

Ms. Egan has been a registered mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution in general civil mediation since 2006. She received her mediation training and certification through Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation and the Justice Center of Atlanta.

During her more than 25 years of litigation experience, Ms. Egan has litigated with Atlanta’s top international law firm, served as an Assistant Attorney General and Assistant District Attorney for the State of Georgia, has clerked for a Superior Court Judge, and has led a well-respected non-profit serving the healthcare needs of children.

As a litigator representing local and international clients. Ms. Egan has substantial experience in consumer litigation under the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act and similar state laws, toxic tort and asbestos-related litigation, insurance coverage litigation, and representing government entities and facilities.

Ms. Egan draws from this extensive and broad-ranging legal background to mediate general civil cases of any size and complexity. She commonly mediates claims arising out of automobile accidents, premises liability, personal injury, business disputes, shareholder disputes, contract disputes, consumer finance disputes, insurance coverage, tax appeals, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud, among others.

Ms. Egan is a registered neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Office of the Fulton County Courts, and the DeKalb County Courts Dispute Resolution Center.  She is well-versed in both in-person mediations and those conducted via Zoom.
